What language goal do you want to work on?
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, educator, teacher, or speech therapist, our two applications help children develop their language skills through play. Depending on your goal—practicing specific sounds or building words and sentences—one of them will be suitable for you.
One sound at a time, by playing
OrthoPhono
OrthoPhono helps you target:
- sound pronunciation, in isolation and within words (at the beginning, middle, or end);
- the beginnings of phonological awareness (recognizing sounds and associating them with their letters) and image-word association in writing;
- learning French as a second language, through repeated exposure to all French sounds.
For each French sound, short and easy-to-play interactive games allow you to practice the sound in isolation, then in all positions within words. The progression is already designed: you choose a sound, the app takes care of the rest.
From pictograms to complete sentences
OrthoPicto
OrthoPicto helps you target:
- the pronunciation of sounds in words and sentences;
- the construction of simple sentences and vocabulary development;
- oral expression and comprehension using pictograms;
- basic vocabulary in French or English, including verbs.
Using an interactive book that targets a specific sound, the child moves pictograms to reconstruct the sentence they see on the screen. Once the sentence is complete, a fun animation activates to bring their creation to life.
Hesitating?
As a general rule: if the child has difficulty producing certain sounds, start with OrthoPhono. If they pronounce sounds well and you want to guide them toward words, sentences, and vocabulary, choose OrthoPicto. The two applications are complementary: OrthoPhono establishes the sound, OrthoPicto transfers it into sentences.
