Caroline Martin, R.P.O
Caroline completed her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Montreal in 2005. Specializing in language development in toddlers, she worked for several years with children with intellectual disabilities or global developmental delays.
Throughout her practice, she designed various adapted tools to meet the specific needs of her clients. It was this desire to offer stimulating, accessible, and practical material that led to the idea of Symbolicone products.
Caroline is committed to offering durable and reusable materials to make language stimulation more enjoyable for both children and their parents.
Karine Ross M.O.A
Karine graduated in speech-language pathology from the University of Montreal in 1998. With many years of experience, she has worked with children presenting various language difficulties, including developmental language disorder (DLD), dyspraxia, speech disorders, deafness, and autism spectrum disorder.
She first worked in a rehabilitation center before moving to private practice, where she specialized in intervention with children aged 18 months to 6 years. She practiced in this field for about ten years.
Now a school-based speech-language pathologist, Ms. Ross joined the Symbolicone team in August 2020. She collaborates on the creation of playful and adapted materials, in partnership with Caroline Martin, to make language learning even more stimulating and accessible.
Marie-Claude Dufour M.P.O.
Marie-Claude Dufour earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montreal in 2014. A passionate speech-language pathologist and author, she is originally from Chicoutimi in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. For over 10 years, she has been supporting children and their families in language development with rigor and creativity.
Marie-Claude founded her own practice in Chicoutimi, where she still works. Every day, she applies her expertise to help children and adolescents who experience difficulties with language, speech, and learning.
Marie-Claude joined the Symbolicone team in 2020. With a playful approach and simple, practical tools, Marie-Claude aims to make language development accessible and enjoyable for all children—and just as pleasant for their parents!
Our Story
An idea born in the clinic, turned into an adventure
The idea for Symbolicone was born from Caroline Martin's practice as a speech therapist: seeing their children's progress, parents asked to buy the materials she designed. In December 2012, Caroline and her partner Guillaume flew to Bali to devote themselves to the first game books; their hotel room in Ubud was transformed into a small publishing workshop. Back in Quebec, the adventure continued from Stoneham, and today they offer dozens of game books and applications that support children in language development.
